I am a Professor of Economics at Georgia Southern University and the Solomons Economic Research Fellow at the Parker College of Business. My research focuses on econometrics, computational finance, and monetary economics, where I employ Bayesian and data mining techniques to address economic and financial issues. My current work explores methodological approaches and applications of information theory and extreme value theory.
I serve as co-editor of the Economics Journal and section editor of the Financial Statistical Journal. I also sit on the editorial boards of International Finance and Banking and the Journal of Information Economics. As the founding director of the Statistics and Econometrics Research Group, I lead initiatives that connect theoretical and applied research.
My teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in analytics, econometrics, macroeconomics, and finance. For further details, see my curriculum vitae.
